How to Prepare Your Furniture Before Moving Day
A little preparation the day before makes the move faster and protects your furniture.
- Empty all drawers and shelves completely — this reduces weight and prevents drawer damage
- Remove glass panels from display cabinets and book shelves
- Detach mirrors from dressers and wrap them separately
- Label every disassembled piece with the destination room name
- Photograph your furniture before movers start disassembly
- Clear pathways from every room to the main door
- Keep all screws and bolts in labeled bags — do not mix them together
How We Handle Different Materials
Wrapped in stretch film first, then covered with moving blankets, then sealed in shrink wrap. Protected from moisture and scratches throughout transit.
The glass is removed from the frame and transported separately in a custom cardboard frame with FRAGILE markings. Frame and glass are never moved together.
Marble is always stood vertically during transport. Never laid flat. Flat horizontal marble cracks under its own weight when the truck vibrates. Foam sheets protect both faces.
Large plastic sofa covers go on first, then stretch wrap over the entire piece. L-shaped sofas are disassembled at the connector joint. Legs are individually padded.
Photographed in assembled state before disassembly begins. All screws and bolts go into labeled zip-lock bags. The assembly manual is photographed for reference at reassembly.
Custom wooden crates are built for high-value antique pieces. White-glove handling only. Insurance declaration required before transit.
Stored inside waterproof mattress bags and transported upright. Never placed under heavy items. Delivered dry and clean to the new location.
