Your safety is our top priority. Following these guidelines helps prevent damage to your belongings, avoids injuries during loading/unloading, and ensures a stress-free moving experience.

Before the Move

  • Take inventory: List all items and photograph valuables before packing begins. This is essential for insurance claims.
  • Use quality packing materials: Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, foam sheets, and stretch wrap — especially for fragile items like glassware, electronics, and antiques.
  • Label every box: Clearly mark boxes with contents, room destination, and handling instructions (FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP). Color-code by room for faster unloading.
  • Disassemble furniture safely: Remove legs, doors, and drawers from large furniture. Keep all screws and small parts in labelled zip-lock bags taped to the item.
  • Back up important documents: Make digital copies of passports, property documents, educational certificates, and medical records before packing them.
  • Opt for transit insurance: Always take transit insurance for long-distance moves. It's inexpensive and protects against damage, loss, or theft during transit.
  • Verify your mover: Confirm the mover's GST number, business address, and reviews. Ask for a written agreement before handing over any goods.

During Packing

  • Wrap electronics individually: Use anti-static bubble wrap for TVs, laptops, and home theatre systems. Never stack heavy items on electronics.
  • Pack heavy items in small boxes: Books, crockery, and tools should go in smaller cartons to prevent boxes from breaking and to avoid injury while lifting.
  • Secure liquids and chemicals: Seal bottles with tape and pack upright. Do not pack flammable, corrosive, or explosive materials in the moving truck.
  • Protect mirrors and glass furniture: Use mirror boxes and cross-tape glass surfaces before wrapping. Mark as extremely fragile.
  • Don't overload boxes: Each box should be manageable — aim for under 20 kg. An overfull box can break during transit or injure movers during loading.
  • Keep an essentials bag separate: Pack a bag with items you'll need for the first 24 hours — medications, chargers, keys, snacks, and important documents.

Loading & Transit

  • Supervise the loading process: Be present when goods are being loaded onto the truck. Verify each item against your inventory list.
  • Get a Lorry Receipt (LR): Insist on a signed LR that lists all goods being transported. This is your legal proof of the goods given to the mover.
  • Secure fragile items last: Fragile boxes should be loaded last and placed on top of heavier items. Use soft padding (blankets, foam) between items.
  • Check vehicle condition: Ensure the truck is clean, dry, and has no leaks. Goods should be covered with waterproof sheets in case of rain.
  • Keep copies of all documents: Retain a copy of your booking agreement, LR copy, and mover's contact details throughout the transit period.

At the Destination

  • Inspect goods before signing delivery receipt: Check every box and piece of furniture for damage before signing the Proof of Delivery (POD). Note any damage in writing.
  • Don't pay full balance before inspection: Complete your inspection first. Note damages before making the final payment and request a payment receipt.
  • Photograph any damage immediately: If items are damaged, photograph them in the truck before unloading as evidence for insurance claims.
  • Test electronics after setup: Power on TVs, refrigerators, and appliances once they've been stationary for at least 2 hours after delivery.
  • Report issues within 24 hours: Contact our support team immediately if you discover missing items or hidden damage after delivery.

Vehicle Transport Safety

  • Remove all personal belongings from the vehicle before handover — cars should be empty at pickup.
  • Fill the fuel tank to only 25% capacity to reduce weight and fire risk during transport.
  • Photograph the vehicle from all angles (including existing dents/scratches) before handing keys to the carrier.
  • Disable the alarm system and remove the E-ZPass or toll tags to avoid accidental charges.
  • Confirm delivery timeline and get the transporter's driver contact number.
  • Inspect the vehicle immediately at delivery in daylight — do not sign the delivery receipt if damage is found before documenting it.
